Game Design Document

This week for the project task we had to make a Game Design Document, I used Dundoc  to create mine. This website had an amazing layout to use which made making the document a lot easier to fill out. I feel I have a lot more insight going in to making my game now.

Here is a link to my Game Design Document on Dundoc! https://www.dundoc.com/project/7854

  2. Reading the your GDD on dundoc has really fleshed out what you're trying to do with your game and has helped to see the direction you're going in. Its great to see that you are considering multiple characters to match the different environments for your game, this will really help with creaking an immersive experience for the player. Bets of Luck with the rest of it

  3. Hey Mary I really like the idea of your game, I think it has so many opportunities for expansion, it also kind of reminds me of squid games red light green light. I wonder what the screens would look like when you are choosing a map to play on? How would you go about designing it in unity? What if there was a game mode that allowed for an endless runner? can't wait to see how it turns out keep up the good work :)

  4. Hey Mary, I love your idea for your game and I think that your GDD is very well thought out. YOU clearly know where you want to go with your game and the kind of mechanics you want to include in it. I'm looking forward to see where your game idea goes as you begin to develop it.

  5. This game sounds really fun! The aspect where you can only move when the light is green is really cool too, it's like Squid Games red light, green light! There's a game for free called called Crab game on Steam that is basically Squid Game and it has a red light, green light mini game you should try it for reference! I wonder what the game will look like even with all the levels you have described, will it look super realistic in the post-apocalyptic level and cartoony in the forest level? You could use a variety of assets on the Unity Store to crack down on the style of your game, there's a bunch of things for free or just a fiver.

  6. Hello Mary,
So I was reading your Dundoc document which was really helpful website to create your game design decision I think it's better than normal Word document or PowerPoint, so I was reading you game introduction and it's a race to the end game so I guess it's not an infinite missing race game and it's a cool idea to be on a map in the world with one character and there is a starting line there will be obstacles which are like traffic lights at the finish line 0 so they're not all obstacles and your aim is to get to the end so who is the fastest person I am really excited since it's going to be 3D I will be using my arrows key on my laptop I have played similar games like this before when I was a child and I still like to have a nostalgic feeling to play them again it will be interesting to see different types of maps so you're going to be focusing more on creating your design type and I see that you're not trying to make it repetitive like all the same games I like the story already to be based on a map and a scaping someone in the city and I'm being chased by an animal in the woods sounds interesting and you kind of got inspired by zombies in apocalypse. for your artwork you are aiming for a graphic with cartoonish looking which is really appealing to the eye coz like no matter how old you are you always like to see something that isn't always realistic answer people find that interesting I am really excited to see all the different types of maps you will probably create.

  7. Hey Mary

This is a really well put together game document. I like how it's short and sweet and easy to read yet I still have a clear idea on what you want your game to look like. I also really like your game idea. It sounds like the traffic light game from Squid Games. Is that where you got your idea from? Best of luck with your game. I can't wait to see how it looks.
