Project Progress 01

 Week 6 - Brainstorming my project idea:

This week we have to begin researching and brainstorming our game. I want to make a 2D game with a very pixel look to it. I found this useful video with lots of resources and tips on YouTube : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=on9nwbZngyw . 

after doing some brainstorming and thinking I decided I wanted to create an endless runner type of game similar to the style of super Mario bros. The character would have to jump over and under different objects that get in the way whilst running to get to the end.

I feel this game idea would be fun to make and also not too challenging. there are a lot of really useful tutorials and helpful videos on YouTube to watch for inspiration and guidance.

I am excited to further develop this idea and create my game in the upcoming weeks.

    Hi Mary, I like the choice to go with pixel art for you 2D game, very cool. The style will match super well with your Super Mario like game. Super glad to hear too that you're prepared and excited to make your game, I look forward to seeing it.

  Traffic Light This week for the project research we were asked to choose our favourite idea from the brainstorm last week and continue researching that idea to further see if it would be a game we would enjoy making. From my brainstorming last week the idea I think I would enjoy the most and also be the most capable of making is the traffic light game. An Introduction to me!

  This is me! Hello and welcome to my introduction post, to begin my name is Mary McGee, I am 20 years old and I am from Carpenterstown, Dublin. I am a Cancer sun, Sagittarius moon, Leo rising and yes I love astrology!  I would say I have a lot of hobbies but something that I have always been super fascinated by is travel. Thanks to covid... I haven't done as much travelling as I would have liked to but some of the places I've been to and loved are Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Rome, Florence, Milan, Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Lisbon, Munich, Brussels, Greece, Egypt, The US and so on... with my favourite being Florence. I find travelling is an amazing way to learn and experience different cultures and places whilst also meeting new people and having fun! Designing a game This week for the project task we had to make a Game Design Document, I used Dundoc   to create mine. This website had an amazing layout to use which made making the document a lot easier to fill out. I feel I have a lot more insight going in to making my game now.
